In November 2005 "BURINTEKH", Ltd has formed Mud Department.
It provides such services as:
- Mud service;
- Supervising of mud service and audit of clearing system;
- Delivery of chemicals for drilling, closing the well, for well work over and raising of oil recovery;
Mud Department has:
- Test laboratory of mud;
- Research Laboratory of fields of oil pools and fiery seams.
Drilling Mud Service
Since 2005 there were drilled more than 200 wells, including 56 sidetracks, 32 of them with horizontal bottom holes.
We had accumulated the experience in different geological and mining conditions in more than 30 deposits in Western and Eastern Siberia and regions of Tomsk and Orenburg.

Software
"BIT HYDRAULICS" - is intended for calculation and design of drilling hydraulics parameters for assistance to mechanical engineer specializing on drilling mud.
"WELLPLAN™" of company Landmark provides with complete set of instruments/facilities for planning, projecting and design of well intervention and assures the coherence/conformity of project information with scientific progress in sphere of drilling hydraulics.
"The choice of fractional composition of filtration-control agent/ colmatant (кольматант) " - it uses a new methodology of choosing of colmatant after Vickers, including the theory of Abrams and Kauffers (the theory of ideal package). This methodology also implicates more concrete choice of fractions for large, middle, little and intermediate sizes of pores in reservoir.
The regional representations, which are based in Nefteyugansk, Nijnevartovsk, Noyabrsk, Gubkinskiy, Orenburg, Buzuluk, Tomsk, exercise control of drilling mud service projects.
The Central Test Laboratory based in Ufa as well as the Regional Laboratories in Nefteyugansk, Nijnevartovsk and Buzuluk render the technical support to objects that are followed by drilling mud service. Proximity of the Regional Laboratories to objects of drilling mud service permits to improve an operational efficiency of making decisions, to estimate the state of drilling mud and chemicals.
"BURINTEKH", Ltd possesses own bases of scientific and technical support: the central base is situated in Ufa, the regional branch is in Nefteyugansk with storehouses in Pyt`-Yakh, Noyabrsk, Nijnevartovsk and Buzuluk.The storehouses meet all requirements: a large area, all conditions necessary for storage of equipment, materials and chemicals.
We have required number of units of passenger and cargo motor transport for carrying out the works on dispersed and distant objects/distributed plants.
Supervising of drilling mud and audit of cleaning system
Since 2009 supervising of drilling mud and audit of cleaning system are included in drilling mud department.
The chief task of that kind of services is a prevention of all kind of accidents and complexifications/complications as well as financial expenditures and time consuming because of sub-quality drilling mud and its inefficient purification.
The main object is the optimization of drilling mud service's charges, services quality improvement and organization of safety working conditions.

PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION:

Mobile units, responsible for drilling mud service, include supervisor specializing on drilling mud and mechanical engineer specializing on cleaning systems. Specialists of "BURINTEKH" have a special education, certification and a high level of professional capacity in sphere of drilling mud and clearing system.

Final result consists of 5 main parties:
- The results of drilling mud measurements and input-analysis of selected reagents.
- Assessment of efficiency of clearing system
- Revealing of breaches in sphere of labour protection, industrial safety and protection of the environment

Drilling mud test laboratory
Drilling mud test laboratory (DMTL) located in Ufa represents scientific-research base with full cycle of research of creation and implementation of new perspective developments in sphere of drilling washing fluids.
Direction of activity:
- Scientific research in sphere of drilling washing fluids, injection of well, well work over, increasing of oil recovery;
- Engineering of new systems water-based and hydrocarbon based for concrete mining and geological conditions of drilling;
- Amelioration and optimization of used system of drilling mud;
- Engineering systems of drilling mud and technological fluids for carrying out the works in conditions of AVPD and ANPD, anomalous high temperature and high level of concentration of sol;
- Engineering of system for chemical clearing of bottomhole formation zone, that represent the alternative of acidizing;
- Engineering of polyfunctional admixtures for drilling mud. That kind of admixtures make the reservoir waterproofed, ameliorate clearing process of well-bore and accelerate the rate of penetration;
- Carrying out the input analysis and selection of sampling of chemicals, produced in Russia and abroad. We had created considerable comparative base;
- Permanent quality control of materials and chemicals, used for drilling mud service.
Our laboratory uses modern techniques for:
- Common analysis of drilling mud parameters applying the ANI standards - equipment of company "OFITE";
- Analysis of inhibitive functions - by "OFITE linear swellmeter";
- For an analysis of rheological properties of drilling mud, it uses programmed viscometer (viscometer "Brookfield", "OFITE" model 900);
- For an analysis of lubricating properties, it uses "OFITE Lubricity-Tester";
- For a correct choice of filtration-control agent for concrete characteristics of production interval/pay zone, it uses Permeability Plugging Tester;
- For quality control of filtration-control agents, weighting materials and other friable reagents, it uses granule's size laser detector "HORBIDA"
and other different research equipment.
We have developed and started to apply a different kind of receipts and systems of drilling mud, technological fluids for different drilling intervals and conditions.
For example:
- directional and horizontal drilling well
- horizontal area and primary dissection of production interval
- in conditions of crumbling and fractured reservoir
- in conditions of high bottom hole temperature and pressure

Lubricant - Surfactant for drilling mud - line "Lubricant BL"
water-dispersible lubricant is designed to decrease the coefficient of friction in all water-base muds, which lowers torque and drag in the wellbore.

Shale Stabilizer "BIO XX"
shale stabilizer reduces the swelling of sensitive shales and drill cuttings exposed to water-base drilling fluids. It inhibits shale hydration, reducing the effect of drill solids on viscosity, and it works to minimize problems such as excessive dilution rates, increased torque and drag, high surge and swab pressures, and bottom-hole assembly balling.

ROP enhancer "OPTIBUR"
ROP enhancer is a versatile and environmentally friendly blend of synthetic fluids, which can significantly increase the rate of penetration (ROP) in water-based drilling fluid. Reagent for better cuttings transportation "FIBER"
fiber is a drilling fluid additive that when added to a drilling mud increases the suspension and hole cleaning ability of the fluid. Introduced in a pill or slug form, Super-Sweep is a wellbore cleaning agent that does not increase viscosity.

Encapsulating gel for preserving core integrity "IZOKOR"The "IZOKOR" is another significant improvement in coring technology from "BURINTEKH", Ltd. Throughout the coring process, it encapsulates the core downhole in a viscous, noninvasive and protective medium. Designed to eliminate invasion at the corebit during cutting, the "IZOKOR" system also protects the core from contamination during recovery, surface handling
and transportation. This enhances the physical integrity of the core after core decompression. The
resulting sample is more representative of in situ formation wettability and water saturation.

Research Laboratory on operational characteristics of formations
Using the experimental installation FDS-350 in laboratory conditions we conduct researches in:
- penetration of drilling mud in formation;
- statistical and dynamic filtration's researches;
- experimental selection of colmatant conditions similar to conditions in formation;
- appraisal and minimization of negative exposure of drilling mud on productive reservoir;
- influence of acid and other treatments on specimen of productive reservoir in reservoir pressure and temperature.
All receipts are examinated in sphere of influence on filtration characteristics of productive reservoirs in conditions similar to conditions in reservoir.
All tests are realized with using a real core material or manufactured/artifactural core material with modeled sponginess, permeability, irreducible oil and bound water-saturation. We select mineral composition of brine water.
